Welcome to our home and to Cowslip Farm. Since inheriting the farm over fifteen years ago we have been driven to developing a campsite and luxury glamping business based on all the things we loved from our camping and caravanning holidays as children.
Our site is a pet free, family friendly site and much loved by our returning visitors many of whom we now class as friends. If you are looking for a friendly site on a working farm with great access to York, or a romantic short break in a luxurious shepherds hut, bell tent or glamping pod all offering fresh water wood fired hot tubs, then we look forward to welcoming you soon!

Are pets, children, and visitors allowed?
● Pets: Unfortunately, we are a pet-free site.
● Children: Children are welcome on the main campsite. Our hot tub pitches and
glamping options are adult only.
● Visitors: Day visitors are allowed only on standard pitches. Visitors are not
permitted on hot tub pitches or glamping options. If visitors are found in these
restricted areas, both the visitors and the booked guests will be asked to leave
immediately without refund.
● Holidaying with friends: Hot tub and glamping bookings cannot be made alongside
any other booking.
What facilities are available on site?
● Shower/WC: We have one shared shower/WC available from April to the end of
October. During busy times, we kindly ask those with their own facilities to use them
to keep the communal one free for tent campers.
● Laundry: No on-site laundry, but there are facilities at the garage as you enter the
village.
● Wi-Fi: We don’t provide Wi-Fi, but 4G and 5G signal works well.
● Drinking water: Yes, drinking water is available on site.
● Septic tank requirement: All chemical toilets must use green chemicals only.
What are the rules regarding BBQs, fire pits, and quiet times?
● BBQs: Yes—BBQs are permitted if raised off the ground, use charcoal only, and
are used for cooking only.
● Fire pits/braziers: These are not permitted anywhere on site.
● Quiet hours: Quiet time is from 10:00pm to 8:00am.
How do I check in and what should I know on arrival?
On arrival, come through the closed wooden gate and stop at the black gates on the left.
We will meet you there.
Please do not proceed past the farmhouse until you have checked in.
What is the best way to reach nearby amenities like York or the local pubs?
● Local pubs: The village has several pubs serving food and real ales, around a
20-minute walk away.
● Getting into York:
○ Uber: ~£12 each way
○ Number 5 bus: runs twice an hour, seven days a week
○ Monks Cross Park & Ride: a short drive away and open daily
What should I do about booking issues, cancellations, and special requests?
● Booking problems: Call 07799 604961 or email cowslipfarmholidays.co.uk as
soon as possible.
● Cancellations: The campsite cancellation policy will be detailed in your booking
confirmation.
● Playing & bikes:
○ There is a large central grass area and an adjacent field for play (children
must be supervised in the field).
○ Bikes may be ridden along the farm driveway only—not on the grass or
within the campsite.
